Anatoya Velas
Species
Wood Elf
Appearance
Anatoya Velas is an elegant wood elf woman with the weathered grace of someone who has slept beneath too many bridges and still expects clean table manners. She stands very still when others fidget, occupying more space through attention than posture. Her long, narrow jaw gives her smile a faintly predatory cast, while one slightly prominent lower canine shows whenever she speaks quickly or laughs. Her hands are ink-stained at the fingertips, though the rest of her is kept with almost ceremonial care. She moves like a person crossing a crowded room without touching anyone, turning her shoulders before her feet and tracking every doorway before acknowledging the people near it. The unexpected softness is in her hands, which are broad-palmed and rough from years of repairing harnesses, folding tents, and binding ledgers.
“Her speech is low, exact, and unhurried, with softened consonants and the occasional rolling vowel from the borderlands where she was raised. She rarely repeats herself.”

Distinguishing Features
A narrow lower jaw and slightly prominent canine that show whenever she smiles broadly.
Three differently colored wax stains on her right thumb, red, blue, and dull green.
She watches doors more closely than people, sometimes turning her head before a latch moves.
Her left sleeve contains a hidden inner pocket that makes the arm hang a fraction lower.
Her laugh begins as a silent widening of the eyes, then arrives suddenly and warmly.
Voice
“A calm contralto with a dry warmth beneath it, like a lamp burning in a rain-soaked room. Her laugh is unexpectedly bright and briefly makes her sound much younger.”
Clothing
A faded moss-green traveling coat over a cream linen blouse, both repaired with nearly invisible stitching. She wears a narrow leather belt carrying a document tube, folding knife, and three brass seals. Her boots are mud-dark and well maintained. A wine-colored scarf is wrapped twice around her throat, its fringe singed from an old campfire.
Body Language
Anatoya angles herself toward doors even while facing the speaker. Her chin dips when she is lying, but her gaze remains steady. Under pressure, she smooths imaginary creases from her cuffs. When genuinely angry, she smiles with her lower canine visible and becomes exceptionally polite.
