Appearance
Rami is a compact, weather-browned human with a narrow face, heavy eyelids, and a posture shaped by years of leaning into wind. Their coat hangs stiffly from salt and old rain, making every turn produce a faint rasp. They smell strongly of lamp oil, kelp, wet rope, and cloves, and seem unaware that the clove scent follows them everywhere. Their eyes rarely meet another person's face. Instead, they track hands, doorways, mooring lines, and the black water beyond the harbor wall. The unexpected thing about them is their immaculate hands, each fingernail trimmed and polished, despite the tar, rust, and fish scales that mark the rest of their life.
