Balthazar Quispe
Cleric, Forge Domain
Balthazar Quispe
Species
Earth Genasi
Appearance
Balthazar looks as if a patient stonemason taught a furnace how to walk. His skin is warm gray, granular in texture, and faintly veined with dull copper lines that brighten when he casts. Fine dust gathers at his knuckles and in the creases beside his mouth no matter how often he washes. He moves with a deliberate, slightly lopsided gait, favoring his left side as though every floor deserves testing before it is trusted. His breathing is normally slow and subterranean, but when angered it comes out in short bursts that sound like a bellows catching. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: broad, callused, and strong enough to bend a horseshoe, yet he handles bread, bandages, and frightened animals with almost absurd delicacy.
“Low, measured, and slightly rough, with a faint bellows-like resonance. He pauses before important words as if testing their weight.”

Distinguishing Features
Copper-colored mineral veins glow beneath his skin when he casts spells.
His left boot is always dusted with pale quarry grit, even after travel through rain or mud.
He breathes with a faint furnace-like rumble that becomes clipped and sharp when rattled.
He carries a small clay whistle shaped like a bird, though he cannot produce a pleasant note from it.
His beard is braided with tiny iron washers rather than beads.
Voice
“A deep, dry baritone with the calm weight of a stone door. His voice almost never rises. When he is rattled, the furnace-like rumble in his breathing becomes audible between clipped words.”
Clothing
A soot-dark linen tunic under layered scale armor made from mismatched brass and iron plates. A heavy red-brown apron hangs over the armor, patched with blue thread from his mother's old work clothes. He wears one soft wool glove on his right hand and leaves the left bare for touching stone, tools, and people during prayers.
Body Language
He plants both feet before speaking seriously, presses his thumb against the head of his hammer, and leans slightly left when listening. In danger, he stops blinking and lowers his chin. When embarrassed, tiny grains of stone loosen from his sleeves.
