Appearance
Caṭakā is a slight young woman with the compact, watchful grace of a black cat crouched beneath a table. Her skin is deep brown, warm at the knuckles and cheeks, and dusted with tiny pale scars from years of fieldwork. A fine layer of black fur appears along her forearms, shoulders, and the backs of her calves, thickening when she is frightened or angry. Her black hair is cut unevenly at the jaw, with one stubborn lock that curls against her left cheek no matter how often she tucks it away. Her eyes are amber-gold and reflective in low light, but her hands are unexpectedly broad and rough, made for hauling water jars rather than delicate feline elegance. She moves quietly until a crisis begins, then crosses a room with startling speed, placing each person exactly where they need to be.
“Her voice is low, dry, and steady, with a lakeside rural cadence. She speaks in compact sentences and often pauses before answering questions that touch on family or the Mark.”

Distinguishing Features
Amber eyes that shine strongly in dim light.
A crescent-shaped pale scar beneath her right collarbone.
Black fur along her forearms and calves that thickens during emotional stress.
A small burn mark on her left palm from a childhood cooking accident.
Her right ear gives a faint twitch whenever someone lies nearby.
Voice
“A quiet contralto with a rough edge from smoke, cold mornings, and too many nights spent speaking softly near the sick.”
Clothing
Her ordinary clothing is practical and repeatedly mended, consisting of a faded rust-red wrap shirt, dark work trousers, a broad cloth sash, and a sleeveless lakeside vest patched at both elbows. Her clothing and personal gear were confiscated after capture, leaving her in a plain infirmary shift while held by Cannith.
Body Language
Caṭakā keeps her shoulders slightly forward, as if ready to lift, catch, or shield someone. Her ears and attention turn toward every disturbance. She rubs the pad of her right thumb against her first two fingers when calculating supplies or weighing a decision. In captivity, she tests restraints with small movements rather than dramatic struggles, conserving strength and watching whoever enters.
