Wallaby Kreeks
Nomad, Blink walker
Wallaby Kreeks
Species
Frog-kin
Appearance
Wallaby Kreeks is a short, stout frog-kin with a pear-shaped body, broad hands, thick toes, and orange skin marked by navy-blue bands that run from his jaw to his wrists like painted river currents. His skin is not smooth, but faintly pebbled and velvety, catching dust in tiny dark specks after a long walk. He moves with a surprising lack of sound, rocking forward on the balls of his feet before making sudden, spring-loaded hops. His flat rice farmer's hat is too large for him and tilts over one eye, giving him the look of a sleepy laborer until he blinks across a room. The unexpected contradiction is that his hands are delicate and meticulously clean, despite years of mud, fieldwork, and wilderness travel.
“His voice is soft and dampened, with a faint clicking undertone. He speaks in short practical phrases, pauses before names, and occasionally makes a quiet croak when searching for the right word.”

Distinguishing Features
A navy stripe crosses his left cheek and breaks into three small dots beneath his eye.
His hat has a neat circular hole cut into the crown so one eye can protrude through it when he is hiding beneath the brim.
A pale scar circles his right ankle from the irrigation shrine collapse.
His staff is wrapped with tiny bells that never ring during a Blinkstep.
He carries a rice grain sealed in amber at the end of a cord around his neck.
Voice
“A low, gentle croak layered beneath a careful tenor, like someone speaking through a reed flute. His laugh arrives as a sudden bubbling chirp, which he tries and fails to suppress.”
Clothing
Baggy navy robes made from layered rice-field cloth, patched at the knees and hemmed with faded orange thread. He wears a flat woven rice farmer's hat, soft split-toe traveling sandals, a waterproof shoulder satchel, and a lacquered staff strapped diagonally across his back.
Body Language
Wallaby keeps his shoulders hunched beneath his robe and frequently presses two fingers to the brim of his hat. He crouches when listening, sways slightly before making decisions, and plants his staff with careful precision. In combat he becomes unnervingly still just before vanishing, then reappears low to the ground with one hand already reaching for the person who needs help.
