Appearance
Jori is a compact, powerfully built woman whose movements have the economical rhythm of someone who has spent decades lifting hot iron without wasting a breath. Her hands are broad and scarred, with fingertips polished smooth by hammer grips, while her forearms are ridged with old burn marks that resemble pale river channels. She stands perfectly still when listening, then moves with startling speed when angered. Her face is severe at first glance, but one corner of her mouth dimples when she is amused. The contradictory impression she leaves is that of a siege engine carefully wrapped in a grandmother's patience.
“Low, clipped, and smoky, with a faint northern cadence. She rarely wastes words, but her insults are precise enough to feel measured with calipers.”

Distinguishing Features
A crescent burn scar across the left palm.
One front tooth is capped with a dull brass sleeve stamped with a tiny hammer.
Her left ear is pierced with three iron rings, each made from a different failed blade.
A pale avalanche scar crosses the right side of her neck.
She smells faintly of hot iron, pine charcoal, and juniper soap.
Voice
“A deep contralto with a dry rasp, steady as a file drawn across steel. When she is truly frightened, her voice becomes soft and almost tender.”
Clothing
A smoke-dark linen shirt, thick leather apron patched with mismatched rivets, wool trousers tucked into iron-capped boots, and a faded blue scarf inherited from her mother. Her apron is covered in chalk marks, folded notes, and tiny metal filings that glitter like frost.
Body Language
Jori plants her feet wide, keeps her shoulders square, and rests one hand on the nearest solid object when thinking. When protective, she angles her body between danger and others. When ashamed, she rubs her left thumb over a crescent-shaped burn on her palm.
