Oskari Tavil
Fighter
Oskari Tavil
Species
Human
Appearance
Oskari Tavil is a broad-shouldered human with the compact, weathered strength of someone who has spent more time carrying wounded people than polishing weapons. His movements are economical and quiet, with a slight forward lean that makes him seem perpetually ready to catch a falling child or intercept a fleeing criminal. His face is square, sun-browned, and marked by a pale scar that runs from the left corner of his mouth to his jaw. One eyebrow is permanently raised from an old knife wound, giving him an expression of skeptical amusement even when he is furious. He wears his authority plainly, but an unexpected softness follows him everywhere: tiny blue glass beads are sewn into the lining of his cloak, and he smells faintly of boiled juniper, wool, and sweet milk.
“Low, measured, and unhurried. Oskari speaks as if every sentence is being entered into a permanent record, but his voice warms noticeably when discussing food, ferries, or children.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale scar from the corner of his mouth to his jaw.
A permanently raised left eyebrow.
Blue glass beads sewn inside his cloak, each representing a person he failed to save.
A red thread tied around his left wrist, replaced every new moon.
He carries a polished river stone in his shield hand when out of armor.
Voice
“A soft baritone with a faint northern lilt, usually calm enough to make anger sound like instruction.”
Clothing
A dark green guard coat reinforced with boiled leather panels, a dull iron breastplate bearing the city's river-knot emblem, wool trousers tucked into mud-stained boots, and a gray-blue cloak lined with hidden glass beads. His gloves are mismatched because he keeps replacing only the right one, which wears through from shield work.
Body Language
He keeps his shield hand close to his chest, rests two fingers against the scar beside his mouth when thinking, and turns his whole body toward anyone speaking to him. In anger, he becomes still rather than animated. Around children, his shoulders lower and his guarded posture softens.
