Oruven Dalo
Caravan Warden
Oruven Dalo
Species
Qumon (Devil), a custom fantasy ancestry
Appearance
Oruven has a broad, patient face and a surprisingly delicate way of moving, as if every step might disturb someone else's sleep. His skin is the matte, pebbled texture of river clay, polished smooth at the elbows and knuckles by years of rope work. Small rounded horns curve back through his thick, dark curls. He smells faintly of warm rain and crushed fennel. Though imposing beside a wagon wheel, he habitually folds himself into doorways and lowers his head to speak, leaving the impression of a mountain apologizing for taking up space.
“A low, rounded baritone, unhurried and gentle. He rarely raises his voice; when he does, the sudden firmness is more startling than a shout.”

Distinguishing Features
His small, rounded horns curve backward and are polished smooth where his scarf sometimes catches against them.
His hands are unusually warm, even in cold weather, and carry pale, permanent rope grooves across the palms.
He has a deep voice but a careful, almost weightless step that seems at odds with his large frame.
Voice
“Warm and low, with a faint gravelly edge from years of road dust; his words arrive like a blanket carefully laid over someone's shoulders.”
Clothing
A rain-darkened wool coat patched with scraps of faded blue canvas, a soft linen shirt, a wide leather belt, and a saffron scarf knotted around one wrist. He wears sturdy boots dusted pale by salt roads.
Body Language
Keeps his shoulders rounded and hands visible, even when armed. When someone is upset, he angles his body toward them without staring. His tail, thick and blunt-tipped, curls around a wagon spoke when he is trying to stay still.
