Appearance
Branoc is a lean, finely kept man whose elegance has the brittle quality of a knife displayed in a velvet case. He moves with a slight forward tilt, never quite walking toward a person so much as positioning himself near the most useful exit, witness, or conversation. His hands are constantly busy with rings, cuffs, buttons, and folded notes. Within a minute of meeting him, most people notice his teeth: narrow, exceptionally white, and filed just a little too evenly, giving his smile the unsettling precision of a cabinetmaker's work. He laughs with his jaw held rigid, as though amusement is something he permits rather than feels. The unexpected contradiction is that his immaculate posture collapses completely when he is alone or exhausted. Then he slouches like a neglected schoolboy, chews sugared fennel seeds, and stares mournfully at walls.
“His speech is polished, quick, and ornamented with legal and theological vocabulary. He sounds most sincere when lying and most sarcastic when telling the truth.”

Distinguishing Features
His teeth are unnaturally even and bright, making every smile look faintly predatory.
He walks with a forward lean and an almost dancer-like habit of pivoting toward doors, balconies, and crowded exits.
He wears seven signet-like rings, though only one is genuine and the others are clever counterfeits.
He keeps a tiny silver spoon in his breast pocket and uses it to taste wine before drinking, even when no spoon is needed.
His laughter is silent for the first second, with his mouth opening before any sound emerges.
Voice
“A smooth, dry baritone with a theatrical lilt. When angry, he lowers his volume rather than raising it. When genuinely amused, his voice briefly loses its polish and becomes boyish.”
Clothing
He wears black leather finery cut like formal courtwear, with a high collar, soft gloves, silver clasps, and a waistcoat lined in faded crimson silk. His boots are polished but resoled. Every expensive-looking item has a small imperfection: a replaced buckle, a repaired seam, or a jewel too obviously synthetic. He wears the Viperatra signet on his right hand and never removes it in public.
Body Language
Branoc leans toward secrets and away from sincerity. He keeps his chin raised while listening, but his eyes drop to a person's hands whenever he suspects concealed weapons or concealed guilt. He taps the side of his thumb against his signet ring when calculating. During anger, he becomes unnervingly still except for the slow working of his jaw.
