Appearance
Jarek is a compact green-skinned goblin with a broad, wedge-shaped head and ears that twitch toward every new sound. He pauses before answering questions, drawing a soft breath through his teeth as if testing whether the words are safe. His hands are unusually noticeable: small, dark-nailed, and thickly callused across the palms from years of hauling rope, scrubbing stable stones, and repairing crude barricades. He moves with quick, economical steps, never quite standing still, yet he becomes perfectly motionless when someone enters his claimed space. His uniform is carefully maintained, but he wears a tiny polished brass thimble on a cord around his wrist, an oddly delicate object on someone who looks built for skulking through drainage tunnels.
“Low, rapid, and carefully controlled. His consonants land with blunt precision, and he often pauses before personal statements as though checking them for structural weakness.”

Distinguishing Features
His ears pivot independently toward nearby sounds, often before he consciously reacts.
He wears a brass thimble on a cord around his wrist and rubs it with his thumb when anxious.
His hands are heavily callused despite his young age, with pale rope-burn lines around both wrists.
He makes a soft three-beat tap on his shield whenever he completes a patrol route.
His uniform is impeccably mended, but every stitch uses a different shade of blue thread.
Voice
“A dry, gravelly tenor that sounds older than his face. Before speaking, he takes a small audible breath through his teeth, and when excited he clicks his tongue against one sharp canine.”
Clothing
A patched dark-blue guard applicant's tabard worn over a boiled-leather vest, practical brown trousers, wrapped calves, and soft black boots. His belt carries more tools than weapons, including chalk, twine, wax, spare buckles, and a tiny folding saw.
Body Language
Jarek keeps his elbows close and his weight forward, as if ready to slip through a gap. His ears angle toward whoever is speaking, while his eyes constantly measure exits, corners, and the distance between people. When pleased, he drums two fingers against his shield in a quiet three-beat rhythm.
