Kettik Valtanen
Species
Half-Elf
Appearance
Kettik is a narrow-shouldered half-elf with ivory skin, neatly brushed brown hair, and clear green eyes that seem to inventory every object in a room. His movements are economical and shopkeeperly, with fingers always measuring distance, weight, or value. He smells strongly of cedar drawers, orange peel, lamp oil, and the bitter herbal tea he drinks too hot. He knows about the tea and cedar, but insists the lamp oil scent is imaginary. His face is smooth and well cared for, yet his hands are rough from crates, locks, and years of repairing hinges. The unexpected contradiction is his immaculate appearance paired with a habit of standing barefoot on the shop floor whenever he is worried, as if he needs to feel whether the building is still solid.
“Measured and articulate, with a faint northern cadence. He pronounces prices as if they are legal verdicts, clips the ends of sentences when suspicious, and becomes unexpectedly lyrical when discussing old roads, handmade tools, or people who keep promises.”

Distinguishing Features
A faint cedar and bitter-tea scent that follows him within arm's reach.
Brown hair brushed so neatly that even rain seems to offend it.
Bright green sleeve repairs sewn in deliberately visible geometric patterns.
A tiny brass key worn on a cord beneath his shirt, though it opens no lock in the shop.
Bare feet whenever he is frightened or making an important decision.
Voice
“A low, smooth baritone with carefully controlled warmth. When he lies, his voice becomes more pleasant. When he tells the truth, it often turns dry and almost bored.”
Clothing
A well-fitted charcoal vest over a cream shirt, russet waistcoat, dark trousers, and soft leather shoes. His sleeves are carefully mended with bright green thread, and one silver cufflink is polished obsessively while the other is plain pewter. A faded blue scarf is tucked into his collar despite warm weather.
Body Language
He leans slightly toward people while listening, but leans away from gifts, favors, and emotional confessions. When angry, he becomes unnaturally still and begins polishing the same brass buckle repeatedly.
