Selka Oltzima
Noble Duelist and Court Arcanist
Selka Oltzima
Species
Dragonborn
Appearance
Selka has the compact proportions of a gnome despite being unmistakably dragonborn, standing barely over three feet tall with a dramatic hourglass shape, broad shoulders, narrow waist, and powerful little legs. Her copper scales overlap like polished coins, but the scales along her throat are soft and peach-colored, almost velvety to the touch. A blunt muzzle, small swept-back horns, and a fringe of fine ivory spines give her a deceptively delicate silhouette. She moves with tiny, rapid steps when irritated, yet becomes perfectly still when negotiating, as if carved from a statue. Her smile is warm and almost maternal, while her eyes remain coldly appraising. The unexpected contradiction is her hands: they are dainty enough for embroidery, but callused from years of sword drills and pistol maintenance.
“Her voice is low, rounded, and unusually calm, with a faint dry rasp beneath its gentleness. She speaks slowly when offering mercy and very quickly when discussing contracts.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale crescent-shaped scar crosses the scales beneath her left eye.
Her left horn has been capped with a tiny silver thimble because it split during her escape from the wine cellar.
Her shadow sometimes appears taller than she is when she gives an order.
She smells faintly of citrus peel, sealing wax, and hot metal.
Her wings are too small for sustained flight but strong enough to let her make brief controlled leaps.
Voice
“A soft contralto with careful diction, warm enough to invite confidence and controlled enough to make every sentence sound like a ruling”
Clothing
A bottle-green velvet coat tailored around her wings, a cream silk waistcoat, copper-threaded trousers, soft riding boots, and a broad sash holding her ceremonial seals. Her jewelry is tasteful except for one absurdly large pearl worn on her smallest horn.
Body Language
Selka rests one claw on the pommel of her saber while listening. When pleased, she tilts her head and folds her wings tightly around herself like a cloak. When frightened, she becomes extravagantly graceful, over-enunciating every gesture.
