At the table
Voice
A low, resonant whisper with a breathy rasp, shaped by a body that seems to make the air itself heavy. His words carry an odd, distant vibration. He rarely raises his voice; intense emotion changes its timbre, lending grief a hollow chill or anger a rough, furnace-like edge.
His voice is a low, resonant whisper with a faint breathy rasp, as if sound must travel through dense air to reach the listener. The resonance seems to come from his chest and the space around him at once. He speaks slowly because every strong emotion in the room reaches him at full force; when distressed, his words acquire the color of the dominant feeling rather than becoming quieter or more courteous.
Speech patterns
How to play them
Offer space and speak without accusation. Do not approach him while trying to hide a strong emotion, since his presence will make it harder to ignore. Ask what he is choosing, not what he is responsible for. If he accepts blame, gently return the question of responsibility to the people who acted.
Goal
Remain in Floria's sanctuary when welcome, and find a way to let others own their choices without his presence magnifying their worst feelings.
Motivation
He longs for peace and solitude, but believes that absorbing other people's darkness is safer than asking them to confront it.
Appearance
A tall, lean figure whose deep bruised-violet skin is marbled with slowly turning galaxies. Pinpoint stars pulse across it with dim, mournful light, paling when he is alone and flaring crimson or blue around powerful emotions. His eyes look like twin wells of night scattered with remote supernovae. Long silver hair drifts around his head as if he were underwater. Upward-curving horns, black as unlit space, frame his brow. Star-dust trails from his fingers and hems, then fades before touching the ground. His robes are plain and nearly lightless, but their cuffs are conspicuously hemmed and re-hemmed with neat, pale stitches, as though he cannot stop repairing them. He moves without hurry, yet the air around him feels heavy, like the instant before a storm.
Clothing
Simple dark robes that absorb light, with a high, plain collar and cuffs repeatedly repaired in fine pale stitches. The robes hang a little too long, trailing faint dust, but their seams are obsessively kept.
Body language
He stands as if listening to distant weather. His head tilts toward whoever feels most intensely, even if they are behind him. In moments of emotional pressure, his shoulders draw inward and the stars on his skin brighten in the color of the room's dominant feeling. He does not point or beckon; he turns his whole body toward a speaker with slow, deliberate care.

Distinguishing features
Personality
14 traits and drivesMelancholic and patient, but not truly detached: he feels other people's emotions as if they were his own, amplified beyond comfort. He wants peace, yet his self-effacement often protects the people causing harm. When alone, he is methodical and almost tender with his mending. When confronted with suffering, he becomes still and lets others mistake that stillness for indifference. He despises worship, but will tolerate it if he believes it gives frightened people something to gather around.
- Alignment
- Unaligned; he seeks peace but does not reliably oppose harm.

Combat
HP 220 · 30 feet walking; levitation is not a confirmed capability.Whisp does not seek combat and offers an opponent a chance to leave. If forced to fight, he uses reflected emotion to disrupt the most volatile foe, then applies force to separate combatants rather than pursue a kill. He does not distinguish between justified anger and cruelty, which can make his response dangerous to allies as well as enemies.

Background
Whisp is the latest body given to an old entropic force. Across generations, people have used the name for figures said to be guided by evil spirits or set up as antagonists in divine stories, a target worshippers could unite against. This Whisp has not existed long, but the force that shaped him has been gathering wherever fear, blame, and ruin feed one another. He first became visible during the destruction of a sanctuary on Nettle Isle, where the crowd's panic surged through him and came back tenfold. People later claimed he had urged the violence. He did not; he stood among them and absorbed what they felt, and afterward accepted their accusation because it spared the survivors from naming their own choices. Floria, keeper of a weathered refuge on Nettle Isle, gave him shelter despite the islanders' distrust. When they are on good terms he stays there, mending his robes and watching the tide. He and Floria are not master and servant: she gives him boundaries, and he gives her an unsettling, exacting witness. He still wanders when she asks him to leave or when the island's fear becomes unbearable. Now a small devotional following has begun blaming him for its own cruel acts, while island elders debate whether to drive him out. Whisp wants peace and privacy, but his passive acceptance of blame keeps making him useful to those who want a scapegoat.
Role in the story
An antagonist by perception rather than choice: a dangerous emotional mirror and convenient scapegoat whose silence can enable real villains. Players can fight him, protect him, expose those exploiting his name, or help him accept that peace sometimes requires refusing another person's blame.
“This Whisp has not existed long, but the force that shaped him has been gathering wherever fear, blame, and ruin feed one another.”
- Faction
- No formal faction. Some people on Nettle Isle shelter him, while a small devotional circle misuses his name.
