Appearance
Vuk is a lean satyr with long ash-brown legs, dark russet fur, and a human torso that looks almost too narrow for his broad, ridged horns. His coat is dense at the thighs and sparse over the ribs, giving him a windswept, half-finished appearance. He moves with a dancer's soft precision, placing each hoof as if the ground might overhear it. Before speaking, he pauses and takes a shallow breath through his nose, as though testing whether the listener's name is safe to say. When rattled, that measured breathing becomes a rapid series of tiny snorts and his voice drops into a near-whisper. The contradictory impression he leaves is of someone physically festive but emotionally funereal, a bright ribbon tied around a sealed letter.
“His voice is low, dry, and musical, with clipped consonants and a faint eastern lilt. He pauses before names, taking a small nasal breath first.”

Distinguishing Features
A pair of short, backward-sweeping horns polished smooth at the tips and wrapped with faded blue thread
A brass tongue-ring that clicks softly against his teeth before he speaks
A viol-like instrument made from pale root wood, with red threads stretched across its sound box instead of strings
His left hoof bears a natural crescent of white fur resembling a small painted smile
He breathes almost silently when calm, but makes a dry, audible rasp at the back of his throat whenever someone says a name he has stolen
Voice
“A low baritone with a dry, papery texture and a restrained musical cadence. His words seem to arrive a heartbeat after his breath. When agitated, he speaks in a whisper so exact that listeners instinctively lean closer.”
Clothing
A sleeveless moss-green coat stitched with tiny brass bells that make no sound, a wine-red sash filled with labeled thread spools, soft black trousers cut for his hind legs, and a weathered gray scarf worn over one shoulder. His gloves have the fingertips removed, except for the left index finger, which is wrapped in silver wire.
Body Language
Vuk keeps his shoulders loose and his chin slightly lowered, presenting his horns before his face. He taps one hoof in complex rhythms when thinking. When lying, he becomes unnaturally still except for the slow winding of red thread around one finger.
