Kaz Rashaar
Artificer, Armorer
Kaz Rashaar
Species
Goliath
Appearance
Kaz Rashaar is a towering goliath whose presence fills a doorway before his weapon does. His slate-gray skin has a fine, pebbled texture like weathered river stone, broken by pale birthmark bands that circle his forearms and ribs in patterns resembling contour lines on a map. He moves with an unsettling quietness for someone so large, placing each foot with deliberate care before exploding into sudden, economical motion when violence begins. His beard is braided into six short cords, each capped with a different brass nut from a machine he has repaired. The unexpected contradiction is his meticulous grooming: although he works in soot, oil, and blood, his nails are polished smooth and his beard is combed with near-fanatical precision. Within a minute of meeting him, most people notice that he repeatedly checks the same copper pressure valve beneath his left collarbone, even when it is already secure.
“His voice is deep, dry, and carefully paced, with clipped consonants and a faint highland cadence. He speaks as though every sentence is a component that must fit precisely.”

Distinguishing Features
Six short beard braids capped with mismatched brass machine nuts.
Pale contour-line birthmarks wrapping around his arms and torso.
A copper pressure valve mounted beneath his left collarbone, which he compulsively checks.
A faint blue glow beneath the skin of his palms caused by repeated contact with unstable arcane ammunition.
His boots leave a distinctive three-point tread in sand because one sole was rebuilt from a broken climbing crampon.
Voice
“A low, resonant rumble with a rasp of metal under it, like gravel shifting inside a bronze drum. He pauses before names, as if testing their weight.”
Clothing
A sand-colored sleeveless work coat reinforced with overlapping leather panels, a dark blue wool shirt, broad climbing trousers, and heavy iron-soled boots. His belt carries tools in carefully balanced pairs. A red scarf from his dead brother is tucked beneath his armor where no one can see it.
Body Language
Kaz stands with his shoulders slightly hunched around the minigun as if shielding it from the world. He rests one thumb against the weapon's pressure valve, taps his heel in mechanical rhythms, and turns his whole torso instead of merely his head. When angry, he becomes almost perfectly still. When frightened, he starts tidying nearby tools.
