Mizuki Vargan
Species
Dragonborn
Appearance
Mizuki Vargan is a copper-scaled dragonborn woman whose body seems built for sudden angles rather than brute force. Her scales are small and tightly fitted along her shoulders, but larger and rougher around her elbows, knees, and throat, where they resemble overlapping roof tiles. A pale seam runs from the left corner of her mouth to her jaw, a healed scar from a ceremonial blade. She moves with unnerving quiet, placing each foot as if the floor might accuse her of haste. Her expression is usually stern, yet she has an unexpectedly delicate habit of holding cups with both hands like a nervous child. When angered, the gold membranes inside her nostrils glow faintly, though her voice becomes softer instead of louder.
“Her voice is low, dry, and carefully paced, with clipped consonants and occasional oddly placed pauses. She speaks as though every sentence must pass through a gate before being released.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale scar cuts from the left corner of her mouth to her jaw.
The tips of her horns are wrapped in red thread, one knot for every person she failed to save.
Her left palm bears a circular burn scar shaped like a bell.
Her breath smells faintly of hot metal when she is frightened.
She carries herself with monk-like serenity while constantly chewing bitter fennel seeds.
Voice
“A low contralto with a faint rasp, like a reed instrument played beside a forge. When she is frightened, the rasp disappears and her voice becomes almost painfully gentle.”
Clothing
A sleeveless indigo travel robe wrapped over a saffron sash, layered linen trousers, weather-stained hand wraps, and a short mantle sewn from old monastery banners. Her belt carries clay beads, a waterskin, and several tiny brass bells with their clappers removed.
Body Language
She keeps her hands folded behind her back when calm and rests one thumb against the first knuckle of her opposite hand when weighing a lie. In a fight, her posture becomes loose and almost bored, with her head tilted slightly downward as if listening through the soles of her feet.
