Appearance
Kostchtchie barely resembles the mortal man he once was. He is an immense, broad-shouldered figure whose body has swollen into the proportions of a frost giant, though his head remains unnaturally small above the massive planes of his shoulders. His legs twist outward at the knees and taper into long, bent feet that make every step look painful, yet he moves with the deliberate certainty of a glacier. His skin is the pale blue-gray of old ice beneath moonlight, crossed by faint white lines that resemble cracks in a frozen lake. A colossal white beard hangs to his knees, each braid threaded with tiny silver bells, bone charms, and the finger bones of kings who once refused his worship. His tiny eyes are pure white, without pupils or irises, but they seem to notice every movement in the room. He smells strongly of cold iron, juniper smoke, and freshly split pine. He knows this and considers it the scent of sanctity. The unexpected softness is his hands, which are broad and scarred but move with extraordinary delicacy when he handles a child's toy, a flower, or a dead person's keepsake.
“His voice is deep, slow, and resonant enough to make cups tremble. He pronounces every name carefully, including insults.”

Distinguishing Features
Tiny pupil-less white eyes set high above an enormous beard woven with royal finger bones and silver bells.
Twisted legs that make him appear unstable until he begins moving, at which point each step lands with crushing certainty.
A persistent scent of cold iron, juniper smoke, and freshly split pine.
A small clay fire-pot sealed beneath a plate of ice over his sternum, faintly glowing whenever he feels compassion.
He unconsciously checks the smallest bell in his beard whenever his mortal past is mentioned.
Voice
“A subterranean rumble softened by careful diction, like distant avalanche thunder heard through thick walls.”
Clothing
A sleeveless coat of layered white hides hangs from his shoulders, secured with black iron clasps shaped like clenched teeth. Beneath it he wears a dark quilted tunic, a broad belt carrying funeral tokens, and heavy boots plated with dull adamantine. Frost gathers along his clothing even in warm rooms.
Body Language
He stands very still before answering, giving the impression that he is listening to distant snowfall. His shoulders remain squared even when seated. When angry, he lowers his head rather than raising his voice, causing his tiny white eyes to disappear beneath the ridge of his brow.
