Mizuhiro Suyana
Rogue, Scout
Mizuhiro Suyana
Species
Gnome
Appearance
Mizuhiro is a compact gnome with a broad, careful face and the dense, springy posture of someone accustomed to moving through tunnels built for larger bodies. His skin has a warm clay-brown tone, usually filmed with a faint gray cast from sewer dust. His hair forms a soft, rounded cap of dark curls, but each curl has been stiffened at the tip by years of mineral-rich mist, giving it the texture of a brush used for scrubbing stone. He walks with small, deliberate steps that seem almost timid until he changes direction, at which point he pivots with startling speed and perfect balance. His hands are perpetually damp and smell faintly of copper, mint, and old rope. The unexpected contradiction is his face: it is gentle, almost grandfatherly, while his eyes remain constantly alert, measuring exits, ledges, drains, and the distance between every person in the room.
“His speech is soft, measured, and faintly musical, with rounded vowels and occasional clipped Gnomish consonants. He pauses before important statements, draws a careful breath through his nose, and often lowers his voice instead of raising it.”

Distinguishing Features
A constant, nearly inaudible clicking of his tongue before he speaks, as if testing the acoustics of the room
A braided wrist cord made from three colors of thread, each knot representing someone he failed to bring out of the sewers
Fingernails stained dark green from handling copper salts and medicinal moss
A brass drain-marker worn at his throat, polished far more often than any other piece of equipment
His habit of smiling warmly at people while positioning himself where he can see every exit
Voice
“A low, gentle baritone for a gnome, with a dry rasp at the edges and a habit of taking one quiet breath before saying anything emotionally important”
Clothing
A soot-brown padded jack under a sleeveless coat of waxed green canvas, reinforced with overlapping leather scales at the ribs. His trousers are tucked into knee-high boots sealed with pitch. He wears a faded red sash containing wire, chalk, hooks, and tiny glass vials. A brass drain-marker hangs at his throat like a medal, though he refuses to explain where it came from.
Body Language
Mizuhiro keeps one thumb hooked beneath the braided cord around his wrist and checks its knots whenever he is thinking. He leans slightly forward when listening, as if trying to hear water beneath the floor. In danger, his shoulders relax instead of tensing, and he becomes almost unnervingly still before moving.
