Marnach Daryun
Fighter, Eldritch Knight
Marnach Daryun
Species
Elf
Appearance
Marnach is a long-limbed elf with the compact, weathered strength of someone who has spent decades standing in doorways and breaking up fights. He waits with his weight on the balls of both feet, never leaning against furniture, as though the floor might suddenly tilt. His movements are economical and almost silent, but his hands are constantly busy, straightening a cup, turning a spoon, or aligning bottles by height. His skin has the muted bronze tone of old teak, textured by sun, smoke, and years of tavern steam. His face is narrow and severe until he smiles, at which point he looks unexpectedly young. The contradictory detail is his immaculate, delicate hands, which seem better suited to a harpist or jeweler than to a retired guard who has dragged drunken sailors out of alleys.
“His voice is low, dry, and measured, with a faint musical cadence that places emphasis on the second-to-last word of a sentence. He speaks Common plainly but lets Elvish vowels lengthen when he is angry or affectionate.”

Distinguishing Features
He always stands with both feet planted evenly, even when exhausted.
His fingertips are permanently stained amber from polishing brass taps and handling spiced tea.
A tiny silver bell is sewn inside his left sleeve and rings only when he raises his arm sharply.
He has a habit of looking at the reflection in a drink before looking at the person who ordered it.
His smile arrives a heartbeat late, as though it must pass through a locked door.
Voice
“A smoky baritone with a patient rasp, like gravel warmed in a kettle. He can make a crowded room quiet without raising his volume.”
Clothing
A charcoal wool vest over a cream linen shirt, dark green trousers tucked into soft leather boots, and a faded watchman's coat worn like an apron. He wears a copper key ring on his belt and keeps a clean white towel over one shoulder. The coat's inner lining is stitched with tiny geometric motifs copied from an old Persian rug found beneath the tavern floor.
Body Language
Marnach stands balanced and forward, with his shoulders loose and his chin slightly lowered. He turns his whole body toward whoever is speaking, but his eyes keep checking exits, hands, and reflections in polished cups. When angry, he becomes unnervingly still. When amused, only one corner of his mouth moves.
