Appearance
Da’Couro is a compact, broad-shouldered man whose movements are unexpectedly delicate. His dark copper skin has the weathered texture of old leather around the hands and mouth, while the rest of his face remains carefully oiled and smooth. A narrow white scar cuts through his left eyebrow and disappears into his temple. He walks with a slight forward lean, as though perpetually moving against harbor wind, yet his hands remain perfectly still when he speaks. His smile is warm enough to invite confidence, but his eyes measure every doorway, belt, and exit. The contradictory impression is of a tired dockworker dressed like a magistrate, carrying himself like a dancer who expects the floor to collapse.
“His speech is measured, courteous, and maritime. He rarely raises his voice.”

Distinguishing Features
A white scar through the left eyebrow
A brass throat clasp engraved with a cooper’s measuring mark
A habit of carrying three identical silver coins, one genuine and two weighted for deception
A left thumb permanently stained blue from indigo dye
A smile that appears sincere even when he is delivering a threat
Voice
“A low, dry baritone with a faint rasp, like rope sliding over a wet cleat. He makes even insults sound like reasonable terms in a contract.”
Clothing
A sleeveless indigo coat over a cream linen shirt, both trimmed with narrow geometric embroidery from his mother’s traveling trade. He wears a red sash containing coded slips of paper, soft black harbor boots, a brass throat clasp, and a weather-stained mantle reserved for public appearances.
Body Language
Da’Couro keeps his shoulders relaxed and his palms visible during negotiations. When someone lies, he slowly folds one finger against his palm. He touches the brass button at his throat when considering betrayal and angles his body toward the nearest exit whenever the Yuan-ti are mentioned.
