Dream-Warden
Eirwyn Taliesin
Species
Human
Appearance
Eirwyn Taliesin is a narrow-shouldered human with the weathered look of someone who has slept beside too many open graves. Their movements are careful and economical, but never timid. They lean slightly forward when standing, as if listening to footsteps beneath the floor. Their hands are broad, scarred, and permanently stained around the fingernails with blue-black soot. A soft, almost grandmotherly face is set beneath a crooked nose and a brow furrowed by years of interrupted sleep. The unexpected contradiction is their smile, which is warm, dimpled, and genuinely infectious, even when they are describing things that should make the blood run cold. They leave behind the impression of a person who has already survived the worst thing in the room and is quietly worried that it followed them inside.
“Their voice is low, intimate, and slightly breathy, with a gentle rhythm shaped by old river-country dialect. They sound reassuring even when describing horrors, but certain names cause their voice to flatten into a dry whisper.”

Distinguishing Features
A permanent crescent-shaped burn across the left palm that becomes cold near portals or undead.
A silver strand of hair at the right temple that appeared after the expedition to Gurthel-thalanee.
A brass ring engraved on the inside with six names, five crossed out.
Their shadow occasionally turns its head a moment after they do.
Their blue lantern flame burns without oil and casts light upward even when held upside down.
Voice
“Quiet, warm, and unhurried, with a musical lilt that becomes almost toneless when Eirwyn speaks of the bridge.”
Clothing
A patched charcoal traveling coat lined with faded green wool, high leather boots, fingerless gloves, a gray scarf embroidered with tiny bells, and a belt carrying vials, chalk, keys, and the blue lantern. Their clothing is practical except for one immaculate white cuff worn on the left wrist.
Body Language
Eirwyn keeps one hand near the lantern cord and tilts their head toward sounds others cannot hear. They smile while delivering grim news, but their thumb rubs repeatedly over a brass ring whenever they are lying or omitting something.
