The Heat

Appearance
The Heat appears as a human-shaped pressure in the room rather than a person, its outline visible only because dust, steam, and loose threads bend toward it. Its one concrete visual hook is a thin blue spark that repeatedly crawls from its clenched thumb to the center of its palm, vanishing just before it becomes a flame. It never quite stands still. Its shoulders lift with the rhythm of someone holding back a shout, while its head remains perfectly level. The air around it smells faintly of hot wiring, rain on pavement, and the metallic tang left in the mouth before a storm. When calm, it is almost easy to mistake for an uncomfortable silence. When rattled, it begins breathing in short electrical clicks, and every light in the room seems to answer.
“Usually silent. When it speaks, its voice sounds like the hero's voice heard through a wall, with a faint crackle beneath every syllable.”

Distinguishing Features
A blue spark repeatedly travels from its thumb into its palm.
Loose objects vibrate whenever it is near.
Its breath sounds like static trapped behind a wall.
It leaves the metallic taste of an approaching storm in the air.
Voice
“A low, familiar voice filtered through a neighboring apartment wall, becoming sharper and more rhythmic as the room grows tense.”
Clothing
No clothing, though the suggestion of a dark work jacket sometimes forms around its shoulders when the room contains fatigue, responsibility, or unspoken resentment.
Body Language
It leans forward without moving its feet. Its hands remain open until someone denies what is happening, at which point the fingers slowly curl as if gripping invisible wire.
