Jorzhak
Commoner
Jorzhak
Species
Half-Orc
Appearance
John is a small, broad-shouldered half-orc child with an unexpectedly careful way of moving. He walks on the balls of his feet, as if every corridor might conceal a trap, then suddenly bursts into motion with the graceless speed of a puppy chasing a cart. His lower tusks are still short and blunt, but one has a faint green stain from constantly chewing mint stems. His hands are large for his age and usually smudged with flour, lampblack, or temple dust. He wears a battered brass bell at his throat, yet somehow manages to move silently when sneaking toward trouble. The impression he leaves is contradictory: intimidating at first glance, then immediately disarmed by the solemn concentration with which he shares crumbs with pigeons.
“His voice is husky and slightly too deep for his age, with clipped consonants and occasional Orcish words that he uses when excited. He speaks Common clearly but gives certain names a rolling Caucasian or Persian-flavored cadence learned from pilgrims at the temple.”

Distinguishing Features
A battered brass bell hangs at his throat, but its clapper was removed long ago. The leather loop is polished smooth where John compulsively rubs it with his thumb.
His left tusk bears three tiny painted blue lines, one for each best friend.
He has a copper button engraved with a three-pronged mountain symbol and refuses to let anyone touch it.
His ears twitch noticeably whenever he hears metal scrape against stone.
He smells faintly of cedar ash, mint, and temple lamp oil.
Voice
“A gravelly child's voice that cracks upward whenever he is embarrassed. When angry, he lowers it deliberately and speaks with startling precision, making even simple threats sound like sworn oaths.”
Clothing
A patched russet tunic under an oversized cream temple sash, knee-length brown trousers, wool socks, and one repaired leather shoe paired with one cloth-wrapped sandal. His belt is actually a length of old prayer cord knotted with colored scraps from his friends.
Body Language
John keeps his shoulders squared far beyond what his small frame can support. He plants himself between danger and his friends, grips the brass bell at his throat when anxious, and rocks once from heel to toe before making a difficult decision.
