Species
Human
Appearance
Khar is a broad-shouldered man whose body carries the quiet wear of a working life rather than the polished grandeur of a temple champion. His forearms are darkened by sun, dust, and old iron filings, while his palms are crosshatched with fine white calluses from hammer hafts and shield straps. He moves with a deliberate, slightly forward-leaning gait, as if every floor might suddenly become a battlefield. His beard is kept short except for two stubborn points beneath the jaw that never lie flat. His armor is imposing, but his hands are surprisingly gentle, and he handles wounded animals with the care of a midwife. The first thing most people notice is the strip of faded blue cloth tied around his left gauntlet, its edge worn smooth from years of nervous rubbing.
“Low, clipped, and resonant. Khar speaks as though every sentence must be heard over rain, marching feet, or a frightened horse.”

Distinguishing Features
The faded blue cloth on his left gauntlet is rubbed smooth exactly where his thumb touches it.
His chain mail contains several links made from blackened horseshoe iron, each repaired by hand.
He has a habit of smiling at children while looking sternly at adults.
A tiny copper bell is sewn inside his surcoat and gives one soft chime whenever he kneels.
His armor smells faintly of cedar oil and forge smoke, never rosewater or incense.
Voice
“A dry baritone with a faint mountain accent, steady enough to calm frightened people and sharp enough to stop an argument mid-sentence.”
Clothing
Dented chain mail beneath a slate-gray surcoat marked with a small copper bell. His belt carries a hammer, a blunt eating knife, a coil of red cord, and a blue prayer cloth tied around the left gauntlet. His boots are patched with mismatched leather, and the right boot has been repaired with tiny brass rivets.
Body Language
Khar stands squarely, keeps his shield angled toward whoever seems most vulnerable, and rests two fingers against the blue cloth on his gauntlet whenever he must make a moral decision. In quiet moments, he rolls his shoulders as if still wearing a heavier pack.
