Vandor Scale-Aegis
Paladin 14, Oath of Devotion
Vandor Scale-Aegis
Species
Aethelgard Half-Dragon, Bronze Draconic Ancestry
Appearance
Vandor is a tall half-dragon with bronze scales polished to a muted gleam, each plate darkened at the edges by mountain dust and years of handling hot metal. His obsidian crest-horns rise in layered ridges from the back of his skull, smooth as river stones and tipped with fine bronze caps. His long hands move with deliberate precision, never quite still, always measuring distance, weight, or consequence. He smells faintly of warm copper, incense ash, and rain striking hot stone, an odor he does not notice until someone comments on it. His navy silk garments are immaculate beneath high-caste bronze-filigree plate, yet the silk cuffs are repeatedly mended with thread of dull red wool, a humble contradiction to his rank. When he enters a chamber, conversations quiet before he speaks, not from fear alone, but from the sense that every careless word has become evidence.
“Quiet, measured, and formal. Vandor speaks with precise pauses and a low rasp that carries through stone chambers.”

Distinguishing Features
A narrow line of pale gold scales runs from his sternum to his left wrist, glowing faintly whenever a nearby leyline shifts.
His obsidian crest-horns are capped with hand-fitted bronze bands engraved with the names of seven dead witnesses.
His mace head contains a small suspended droplet of liquid copper that never cools.
He smells of copper, incense ash, and rain on heated stone.
His formal armor is immaculate, but both silk cuffs have been mended with coarse red wool.
Voice
“A low, controlled bronze rasp with a faint electrical vibration beneath it, as if distant thunder is trapped behind his teeth.”
Clothing
Bronze-filigree plate armor over navy silk robes, a high collar bearing the seven seals of the sanctuary courts, red wool repairs at both cuffs, black basalt prayer beads, and a heavy copper-tipped mace of office
Body Language
Vandor stands with his shoulders squared and his mace held vertically like a staff of office. He angles his horns toward whoever speaks, blinks slowly while listening, and taps one claw against his gauntlet when a statement contains an omission. During moments of private grief, he rubs the red wool repairs at his cuffs.
