Appearance
Taz is a compact, broad-shouldered human with the weathered hands of a mason and the careful posture of a clerk. Their copper-brown skin is roughened across the knuckles and forearms by lime dust, rope burn, and years spent repairing flood barriers. Their black hair is cut close at the sides but left long on top, where it curls stubbornly toward the left no matter how tightly it is tied. They walk with a measured half-step, as if every floor might conceal a weak board, yet their hands move with startling delicacy when handling paper. The unexpected contradiction is their expression: they look severe at rest, but smile with almost childlike warmth whenever someone mentions soup, maps, or birds.
“Measured and exact, with a dry warmth beneath the official phrasing. Taz pauses before names, dates, and promises, as though checking each one for structural weakness.”

Distinguishing Features
Their fingertips are permanently pale at the tips from years of handling lime, chalk, and sealing wax.
A loose curl of black hair always points left, even after rain or deliberate combing.
They carry a faint scent of cedar oil, iron filings, and onion broth.
Their boots have mismatched soles, one made for stone roads and one made for mud.
They write with both hands, switching whenever one wrist becomes tired.
Voice
“Low, dry, and unexpectedly gentle. Taz speaks like someone reading instructions aloud in a storm, never wasting volume, but every word carries clearly.”
Clothing
A smoke-blue wool coat reinforced at the elbows, a sleeveless ochre vest covered in stitched pockets, dark work trousers, soft leather boots, and a red cord around the left wrist bearing three small brass tokens. Their clothing is practical but meticulously repaired, with every patch sewn in a different geometric pattern.
Body Language
Taz stands squarely with their weight balanced over both feet, tapping two fingers against their thumb while thinking. They lean closer when someone lies, not farther away. When angry, they become perfectly still except for the slow folding of whatever paper they are holding.
