Mairenn is a compact, strikingly beautiful dwarf with a remarkably narrow waist, broad capable shoulders, and the grounded stance of someone raised among miners rather than courtiers. Her face is unusually symmetrical and almost human in its proportions, with a straight nose, high cheekbones, a small cleft in her chin, and a mouth that seems permanently poised between kindness and mischief. Her pale skin has the faint cool translucence of polished marble, though a constellation of tiny burn marks freckles her left forearm. Bleach-blonde hair falls in thick, carefully oiled ropes to her hips, bound with thin gold wire and small green beads. She moves with a slow, deliberate sway that makes people watch her even when she is trying to appear solemn.
