The Blight Beneath Flaydra Manor
The Blight Beneath Flaydra Manor
“A drowned castle holds a living weapon, a controlled mage, and a knight who thinks the sea itself is ready to obey.”
— Hook · investigation
“The Sea Mount caves were supposed to be empty ruins, but your expedition has found fresh footprints, extinguished lanterns, and a voice calling from beneath the water. Somewhere inside the drowned manor of King Flaydra, Sir Drigabond is preparing his next move, and the missing mage Clovara Withold may be helping him against her will.”
— Hook · investigation
The adventure begins in a narrow cavern where the party's expedition has discovered the broken outer wall of Flaydra manor beneath the Sea Mount. Saltwater pours through cracks in the masonry, and pale roots pulse along the stones like veins. A discarded College of Swords insignia lies beside a trail of blackened footprints that leads deeper into the ruins.
Master Odran Vell
Master Odran Vell approaches the party at the edge of the Sea Mount caves after receiving a delayed distress signal from Clovara. He offers official College of Swords support, but his urgency and refusal to discuss the manor's history suggest that the College has been hiding something.

If Sir Drigabond succeeds, every connected pool, well, and coastal inlet becomes a possible channel for the blight. The first victims will be isolated communities near the Sea Mount, followed by the College of Swords and any faction that attempts to oppose him. Saving Clovara may preserve the only person capable of understanding the Crownwell without unleashing its deeper intelligence.
Background Lore
The Flaydra manor was once the sea-battered stronghold of King Orsivane Flaydra, a ruler who attempted to bind the tides beneath the Sea Mount caves. His experiments created a crystalline reservoir called the Crownwell, which could amplify a spellcaster's commands through water and living tissue. When Orsivane vanished, the manor collapsed into the caverns, and the Crownwell was sealed behind wards maintained by the College of Swords. Sir Drigabond has rediscovered the ruins and is using fragments of the Crownwell to spread a magical blight that weakens resistance and allows him to impose commands on infected minds.
The Carrot Crusaders discover the submerged ruins of Flaydra manor while conducting an unrelated mission in the Sea Mount caves. The manor was once the castle of a lost king, but recent activity suggests that someone has established a base inside the ruins. The party must investigate the castle, locate the missing magic caster Clovara Withold, and stop Sir Drigabond from using an ancient magical device to spread a dangerous blight.
