Originally built as a military bastion for the royal guard, the district was converted into a luxury quarter after the Great Quarantine. The nobility moved here to escape the sickness, commissioning the alchemists to build wards that still function today. Over time, the separation between the High District and the rest of the city became physical and spiritual, creating a closed ecosystem of power and secret rituals.
