Save the Wagon at the Road Bend
Save the Wagon at the Road Bend
Read Aloud
A log crashes down across the road ahead, and goblin arrows hiss out of the ditch. A bugbear lumbers up from the broken cart, morningstar already swinging, while another one moves to cut off the rear. They are not here to kill everyone. They are here to take one person, one pack, or one wagon, and leave the rest bleeding in the dust.

Battlefield Zones
A narrow road bend with a shallow ditch on both sides. Dust hangs low, and anyone standing here is easy to spot from the brush.
A half-broken cart, a spilled crate, and a yoke of dead horses block part of the road. Good cover, bad footing.
Thick roadside brambles and thorn scrub hide bodies well. Anyone forcing through gets cut, slowed, and angry.
Terrain Levers
- A tipped cart gives half cover if someone uses an action to shove it upright or crawl behind it.
- Loose gravel at the bend makes the road slick, so a hard push or chase can force a stumble.
- Dense ditch-brambles can be cut through or set to snag pursuers and break line of sight.
