The Water at the Road
Read Aloud
Dust skates across the plains and clings to your boots. A wagon is stuck beside a stone marker, and the farmer in charge keeps one hand on the hitch and the other on a ledger. He looks like a man running out of road and patience at the same time.

- He softens if the PCs speak to the work, the weather, or the animals.
- He gets sharp if anyone talks like the plains belong to strangers.
