Eldra Moonsong
Druidic warden
Eldra Moonsong
Species
Half-elf
Appearance
Eldra is a lean, weather-hardened half-elf with the careful balance of someone accustomed to walking on wet roots, narrow branches, and unstable ground. Her skin has a warm bronze tone dusted with freckles across the bridge of her nose and shoulders. Her dark brown hair is cut to her jaw on one side and hangs in a long, uneven braid on the other, threaded with seed pods, green glass beads, and a single brass button from a soldier's coat. Her hands are broad-palmed and heavily callused, with ingrained green stains beneath the nails from years of grafting, poultice-making, and carving trail marks. She moves quietly, but not gracefully. Her steps are deliberate, almost clumsy, until danger appears, at which point she becomes startlingly quick. The contradiction is most striking in her face: she looks stern and watchful at first, yet smiles with the open delight of a child whenever someone mentions an unusual mushroom.
“Eldra speaks in a low, measured voice with a faint musical cadence. She pauses before important words and occasionally hums two notes before answering.”

Distinguishing Features
Her first sound before speaking is a soft two-note hum, as if testing whether the room has an echo.
The fingers of her left hand are permanently stained green from a rare medicinal lichen that she cultivates.
A brass soldier's button is braided into her hair, though she refuses to explain whose coat it came from.
Her staff is hollow and filled with dry moonflower seeds that rattle whenever she moves.
She smiles at mushrooms, moss, and ugly dogs with equal sincerity.
Voice
“A low contralto with a dry rasp at the edges, like wind passing through reeds. Her laugh is unexpectedly loud and bright, while her battle commands become nearly toneless.”
Clothing
A moss-green wool coat patched with brown leather, a sleeveless ochre tunic, dark trousers tucked into mud-stained boots, and a faded red sash containing seed packets, chalk, and tiny glass vials. Her hood is lined with pale rabbit fur and bears a hand-stitched pattern of crescent moons and winding roots.
Body Language
Eldra keeps her shoulders slightly forward as though walking into wind. She pauses before answering difficult questions, draws a slow breath through her nose, and rubs the rough pad of her thumb over the edge of her staff. When she trusts someone, she leans close and studies their hands rather than their face. When frightened, she becomes intensely still.
