Appearance
Theodore is a slight young man with the careful posture of someone who learned to make himself small in crowded rooms. His skin is warm brown and weathered unevenly, with pale patches across his knuckles from years of chalk, lye, and spell reagents. His dark hair curls softly around his ears, usually flattened on one side from sleeping against a rolled cloak. His eyes are hazel, but what people notice first is that they rarely settle on faces. He studies doorways, hands, ceiling beams, and the spaces beneath furniture, always mapping possible danger. He moves with a quiet, floating gait until startled, when he becomes abruptly clumsy and all elbows. The contradictory impression is striking: he looks delicate and almost saintly at first glance, yet carries himself like a rescued animal that has memorized every route to escape.
“Soft, quick, and carefully enunciated. Theodore's voice becomes musical when discussing magic and almost flat when recounting the siege.”

Distinguishing Features
His coat smells faintly of rainwater, chalk dust, and burnt orange peel.
He has a habit of looking at a person's hands before their face.
A thin line of silvery spell residue circles both wrists and glows when he lies about magic.
His left boot contains a folded list of the names of every apprentice known to have escaped the school.
His smile arrives half a second late, as if he has to remember how one is expected to smile.
Voice
“A low, gentle tenor with a dry warmth, like a song heard through a closed door. Under stress, his final syllables rise as though every statement has become a question.”
Clothing
A patched slate-blue apprentice coat several sizes too large, fastened with mismatched brass buttons. Beneath it he wears a cream linen shirt marked by ink and reagent stains, soft wool trousers, and one carefully darned boot paired with a newer, military-issue boot. A strip of red thread is sewn into the coat cuff as a private memorial to the Collegium dead.
Body Language
Theodore keeps his hands loosely clasped at his waist, thumbs rubbing the ridges of his knuckles. He leans toward quiet voices and away from raised ones. When frightened, he smiles politely, lowers his chin, and begins scanning the room without moving his head.
