Glint Vent-Pry
Rogue, Scout, level 6
Glint Vent-Pry
Species
Cinderclaw, Tunnel-Runner
Appearance
Glint is a compact cinderclaw with ochre scales dusted in sulfur-yellow powder, as if he has been rolled through a warm quarry floor. His body is narrow and spring-loaded, with a long balancing tail that makes small corrections whenever he stands on a ledge. He waits with one heel lifted and his weight over the balls of his feet, never quite resting. His hands are the feature people notice first: broad-palmed, blackened at the fingertips, and thickly callused from rope, wet iron, and barnacle-crusted stone. He wears brass diving goggles even when no water is nearby, their lenses polished clear except for a permanent crescent of steam-fog at the edges. The unexpected softness is in his movement. For someone who lives around winches and cliff machinery, he handles tools with the delicate care of a person tying a child's ribbon.
“Quick and clipped when working, warm and unexpectedly lyrical when talking about tides or machinery. He clicks his tongue softly between sentences and uses short whistles as punctuation when distracted.”

Distinguishing Features
Sulfur-yellow powder clings permanently to the grooves between his ochre scales.
His brass diving goggles are worn high on his brow like a second pair of eyes.
The first claw of each hand is capped with dark iron from years of rope and metalwork.
His tail bears a row of tiny brass rings, each taken from a successful rescue rig.
He stands ready to spring even while eating, sleeping lightly, or telling a joke.
Voice
“A quick, husky tenor with a dry rasp from sulfur fumes, often dropping to a whisper when he is near unstable stone and rising into bright chirps when excited.”
Clothing
Waterproof oilskin leathers sewn with overlapping scale-flaps, a brass-buckled harness, fingerless climbing wraps, salt-stiffened boots, a hood with drain channels, and a belt crowded with pitons, line spools, chalk, signal whistles, and tiny tools
Body Language
Glint keeps his shoulders low and his elbows close, as though moving beneath a low ceiling. While listening, he tilts his head until one goggle lens catches the speaker's reflection. When challenged, he becomes perfectly still except for his tail, which taps once against the nearest solid surface.
