Allikami Dragonwind
Allikami Dragonwind
At the table
“Put it down. Step back. Now.”
Voice
A clear, weather-shaped voice that seems to carry through open air without becoming loud. Her words have crisp consonants, a soft breathy edge, and the occasional dry rasp of leaf against bark. She speaks in short, practical clauses when danger is near and allows longer pauses in council, as if giving others room to hear themselves think.
Her speech has the measured breath of someone accustomed to speaking outdoors against weather: consonants land cleanly, vowels carry a soft rush of air, and she leaves brief silences where wind might answer. Her upbringing among root-speakers lends her practical, grounded phrasing; her mixed heritage gives certain words a faint rasp, like dry leaves dragged over stone. She speaks plainly rather than ceremonially, except when making a public promise, when every word is deliberate.
Speech patterns
How to play them
Treat Allikami as a ruler who listens closely but does not confuse listening with agreement. She responds best to clear costs, practical plans, and people who speak honestly about their own interests. A promise made in her presence is remembered. She will offer aid to guests who respect the forest, but demands restitution from those who exploit it. If the party brings evidence about the stillness, she grants them access to restricted paths and shares what she knows, including uncomfortable truths.
Goal
Discover what has silenced the wind in the forest's eastern reach and renew the failing pact without sacrificing the border settlements.
Motivation
To keep the forest and its people alive without making either one a sacrifice for the other's sake.
Appearance
Allikami looks like a queen carved from living weather. Her deep green-brown skin has the fine, matte texture of young bark, crossed at the temples and collarbones by pale lines like wind-scoured grain. A crown of swept-back horns, each ridged like a dragon's, emerges through a mass of dark hair threaded with leaves that never quite settle. Her long ears taper into delicate, leaf-veined points; her teeth are subtly too sharp, and a faint smoke-dark sheen gathers at the edges of her breath when she is angry. She stands very still, but her weight rests on the balls of her feet as if the earth were a branch about to spring. When she walks, she takes no straight path: each step arcs around roots, people, and puddles with the effortless precision of a gust finding an open window. The unexpected detail is that she carries a little wooden toy boat in her sleeve and turns it over in her fingers during councils, a keepsake from a flood she could not stop.
Clothing
A layered mantle of woven bark-fiber, dark green wool, and overlapping dragon-scale plates grown from fallen forestwood. She wears no metal crown; living branches curl above her brow. A broad sash holds a map case, a seed pouch, and the small wooden boat.
Body language
She waits with her weight pitched forward and her feet angled toward the nearest living thing, as though listening through the ground. Her hands seldom gesture broadly; instead, she taps a single nail against her scepter to mark a point. When displeased, she turns her whole body toward the person rather than merely turning her head. When grief catches her, her shoulders lift as if against a cold wind.

She is proud of her inheritance and privately uneasy about what parts of it she cannot control.

AC 20 · HP 310 · 40 ft., fly 60 ft. (hover)Allikami begins by separating threats with wind and terrain, reserving Dragonwind Breath for clustered enemies or foes threatening civilians. She uses control winds and wall of wind to break ranged formations, then closes with her scepter while Gale Bolts drive enemies away from vulnerable allies. She prefers capture or retreat over killing, but becomes relentless if an enemy harms the forest or violates sanctuary. She uses legendary resistance sparingly and keeps a route open for allies to withdraw.

Background
Allikami is the product-child and rightful heir of Dragonwind Forest: born where the forest's ancient wind avatar, an elf touched by fey power, joined with a demonkin-dragonkin-elf-fey-wood-kin human wanderer. Her parents gave her no throne; the forest itself did, bending its highest boughs into a living crown when she first spoke its name. In her youth she believed that being heir meant being able to protect everything. During the Flood of Split Reed, a storm-driven river broke through a settlement's old embankment. Allikami chose to save a sacred grove rather than divert the torrent toward it, and watched the waters take dozens of homes. She spent the next winter hauling stone with survivors and learning that a ruler's choices cannot be made clean by good intentions. She now rules from a broad root-hall called the High Bough, whose name began as a surveyor's label and outlasted the survey. Her oldest counselor, Efa, argues that the forest must bargain with nearby settlements before the next dry season. Her half-brother, Tomas, a wandering healer, believes she is becoming too much like the forest and not enough like the people who depend on it. Her current problem is a spreading stillness: a region of trees where no wind moves, no birds call, and the roots have begun to withdraw from the soil. She suspects an old pact is failing, but revealing that possibility could shatter the fragile peace she has built.
Role in the story
A powerful sovereign and potential ally whose judgment is tested by a crisis she helped create. She can grant the party passage, resources, and political legitimacy, but resolving the forest's danger requires her to face the cost of her own past decision.

- Faction
- Queen and living heir of Dragonwind Forest; bound by custom to its root-speakers, wind-spirits, and settled communities at its borders.
