Knot-Seven
Paladin, Oath of Vengeance
Knot-Seven
Species
Tectonic Forged, Star-Sand Calibrated
Appearance
Knot-Seven stands nearly eight feet tall, assembled from jet-black basalt plates whose edges are polished smooth by ritual handling. Thick crimson cordage crosses their torso, shoulders, and forearms in geometric bindings, each knot sealed with dull copper wax. A red Star-Sand core glows behind a ribbed opening in their chest, pulsing like a furnace seen through a grate. Their movements are slow enough to seem deliberate, yet every step lands with exact, quiet force. Fine red dust gathers in the grooves of their stone joints. The unexpected detail is their left hand, which has been fitted with a small porcelain ritual bell, carefully wrapped in blue cloth so it never rings unless they deliberately open their fingers.
“Knot-Seven is completely silent. They communicate through precise hand signs, slate tablets, tapping patterns, and changes in the intensity of their chest core.”

Distinguishing Features
Crimson cordage forms seven visible binding knots across their torso, each representing a foundational article of the Red Thread Vow.
A glowing red Star-Sand core pulses behind their chest plates and brightens when they detect deliberate falsehood.
Their footsteps leave tiny warm impressions in frost, ash, or dust that fade after seven heartbeats.
A blue-wrapped porcelain bell is fitted into their left hand and never rings accidentally.
They keep their gaze fixed on hands, doorways, and ritual instruments rather than faces.
Voice
“No voice. The Star-Sand core emits a low furnace hum when Knot-Seven concentrates, and the porcelain bell gives one clear, almost tender note when they choose mercy.”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal ritual mantle hangs from bronze shoulder clasps, its hem repeatedly repaired with red thread. Beneath it, layered iron lamellar protects the joints and abdomen. The mantle fits poorly across their stone back, but the collar is immaculate and freshly brushed before every judgement. A narrow blue cloth wraps the porcelain bell on their left hand.
Body Language
Knot-Seven rarely turns their head. Their entire torso rotates toward whoever is speaking, making the movement feel ceremonial and absolute. They lower their greatsword before entering a sanctuary, fold their hands over the chest core when listening, and tighten one crimson cord whenever they detect a lie. When angered, they become almost perfectly still while the Star-Sand light inside their chest brightens.
