Rozar Scale-Vigil
Paladin 14, Oath of the Crown
Rozar Scale-Vigil
Species
Aethelgard Half-Dragon, Gold Draconic Ancestry
Appearance
Rozar is a broad, powerful half-dragon whose polished gold scales have been burnished until they reflect torchlight in hard amber flashes. Deep crimson crest-spikes sweep from the crown of his skull to the base of his neck, each one filed into a precise military point. His breath usually leaves his nostrils in two thin, controlled streams, carrying the dry scent of hot iron and cinnamon ash. His movements are economical, almost quiet for someone of his size, with the deliberate balance of a fortress gate lowering into place. Unexpectedly, he has delicate hands, long-fingered and careful, and he uses them to mend torn ledgers, adjust children's uniforms, and brush slag dust from injured workers before ordering their evacuation. When anger breaks through his discipline, his breathing becomes audible first, a rasping furnace-draw, and the crimson scales beneath his jaw brighten like coals.
“His voice is a resonant baritone with a dry crackle beneath it, like iron dragged across cooling stone. He speaks in measured clauses and rarely repeats himself.”

Distinguishing Features
A line of tiny brass bells is woven into the end of his crimson crest, producing a faint metallic chime whenever he turns his head.
His golden scales are polished on the front of his body but smoke-darkened and rough along his spine from years near the Marches' furnace vents.
His iron signet scepter bears a flattened pommel shaped like a gate viewed from above.
He exhales visible heat when emotionally provoked, even in cold weather.
He carries a child's red wool mitten inside his breastplate as a private reminder of the Furnace Gate Collapse.
Voice
“A low, controlled baritone with a dry metallic rasp. His words usually carry the cadence of a formal decree, but warmth enters his voice when speaking to workers, children, or frightened animals.”
Clothing
High-caste magistrate plate mail of blackened steel and gold-edged volcanic alloy, worn over heavy crimson wool. The armor bears the scaled sun of Aethelgard at the breast and the Gatefall seal at the left shoulder. His crimson cloak is lined with heat-resistant gray felt, and his iron signet scepter hangs from a chain at his hip when he is off duty.
Body Language
Rozar stands with his shoulders square and his scepter grounded lightly against the floor. He angles his body toward exits and choke points without appearing to watch them. During negotiations, one claw traces invisible columns on his gauntlet, as if balancing a ledger. When rattled, his throat expands with a visible pulse, his breath turns hot enough to fog metal, and the tip of his scepter begins tapping a steady three-beat measure.
