Appearance
Miklós is a lean human man with a weathered, thoughtful face and a long pale scar that circles both wrists like old bracelets. The scar tissue is smooth and silvery, but faintly warm when someone nearby lies. His lower jaw is slightly too broad for his narrow face, and his square front teeth show whenever he eats, smiles, or speaks with unusual enthusiasm. He chews slowly and carefully, as if listening for messages inside the food. He rarely stands flat-footed. While waiting, he rests his weight on the balls of his feet and rocks almost imperceptibly, giving the impression that he is balancing on the edge of an unseen boat. His hands are ink-stained, his nails neatly trimmed, and his clothing smells faintly of juniper smoke and rain. The contradictory impression is that of a tired, scarred wanderer who moves with the delicate courtesy of a dancer.
“Soft and deliberate, with rounded vowels and a gentle Hungarian-Slavic cadence. He speaks quietly enough that listeners lean toward him, then occasionally delivers a startlingly sharp sentence without raising his volume.”

Distinguishing Features
Smooth silver scars circle both wrists like bracelets.
His broad lower jaw and prominent square front teeth are immediately noticeable when he eats or laughs.
He rocks subtly on the balls of his feet while waiting.
A tiny crescent-shaped birthmark sits beneath his tongue.
His shadow sometimes turns its head a moment after he does.
Voice
“Low, warm, and slightly breathy, with a careful rhythm that makes even warnings sound intimate. When exhausted, he slips into a rural river accent and speaks to people as if they are characters in a half-remembered lullaby.”
Clothing
A moss-green wool coat patched at the elbows, a cream linen shirt, dark trousers tucked into weathered riding boots, a burgundy scarf embroidered with tiny silver moons, and a leather spellbook case worn beneath his left arm
Body Language
He keeps his shoulders relaxed but never exposes both palms at once. When listening, he tilts his head toward the speaker's shadow rather than the speaker's face. In danger, he becomes very still, then begins rocking lightly on his toes.
