Appearance
Odeus is a broad-shouldered, dark-skinned man with the weathered presence of someone who has walked through many centuries of bad weather. His skin has a faint grain like polished teak, and thin gold lines appear beneath it whenever his emotions surge. He moves with an odd combination of heaviness and sudden lightness, standing utterly still one moment and crossing a room in a loose, almost dancing stride the next. His hands are enormous and carefully gentle, while his smile is crooked enough to suggest he has just thought of a rude joke. The contradictory impression he leaves is of a brawler dressed for a funeral who handles every fragile thing as though it were a bird.
“A resonant baritone with the easy rhythm of a storyteller addressing a crowded courtyard. He speaks plainly, drops into sudden poetic imagery when moved, and punctuates serious statements with dry, almost domestic humor.”

Distinguishing Features
Gold lines shimmer under his skin when he feels strong emotion.
His left little finger is missing, though he sometimes uses it to point.
A tiny brass bell is embedded in the sole of his right sandal and rings only when someone nearby is about to give up.
His shadow occasionally walks in the opposite direction.
He carries the smell of rain on hot stone, even indoors.
Voice
“Warm, low, and textured with a dry rasp, like a wooden door opening after rain. His laughter is sudden and contagious, while his anger makes every word land with the quiet weight of a stone placed on a grave.”
Clothing
A sleeveless indigo coat patched with scraps of sailcloth, a cream linen shirt, wide brown trousers, and soft leather sandals. Around his waist hangs a red cord holding dozens of mismatched keys. His clothing is plainly made but always perfectly clean, except for soot on his left cuff.
Body Language
He leans toward people when they speak, but turns his body away whenever he is about to reveal genuine tenderness. When angry, he becomes perfectly still and folds his hands over his stomach. When delighted, his whole frame seems to take up more space.
