Appearance

Eysus appears as a broad-shouldered traveler whose body seems assembled from several incompatible kinds of matter. Their skin has the texture of warm clay veined with faint red mineral lines, while their hands are soft, scarless, and almost human. Their movements are slow until someone is threatened, at which point they cross a room with startling, predatory speed. Damp black hair hangs in dense cords around their face, each cord tipped with a tiny copper bead inscribed with the name of someone they failed to save. Their face is calm and weathered, with a broken nose, a square jaw, and a mouth that looks permanently prepared to apologize. The contradictory impression is unmistakable: Eysus looks like a patient village healer, but their shadow is enormous, horned, and holding a spear.

Eysus speaks in a low, steady register with careful pauses. Their voice carries the dry warmth of a cooking fire and the resonance of sound inside a stone chapel.”

Distinguishing Features

Copper beads bearing the names of the dead are woven into their hair.

Their shadow becomes enormous and horned when someone nearby intends deliberate harm.

A thin red line circles both wrists, resembling old rope burns but never fading.

Their left eye reflects the last person in the room who was denied mercy.

Their cane is polished smooth where countless frightened hands have gripped it.

Voice

Low, patient, and resonant, with a faint rasp like water moving through gravel

Clothing

A layered travel mantle of undyed wool, faded indigo, and deep red, fastened with a hammered copper clasp. Beneath it they wear a plain linen tunic, wrapped trousers, soft leather sandals, and a sash woven with tiny repeating doorway patterns. Their clothing is patched with care, but every patch is made from fabric taken from a place where someone was denied shelter.

Body Language

Eysus keeps their palms visible and their shoulders lowered, as if approaching a frightened animal. When angry, they stop moving entirely. When grieving, they repeatedly touch the copper beads in their hair and count them under their breath.
