Zhur Ashen-Crest
Fighter 15, Battle Master
Zhur Ashen-Crest
Species
Aethelgard Half-Dragon, Gold Draconic Ancestry
Appearance
Zhur is a broad-shouldered half-dragon whose burnished gold scales are darkened by fine cinder-streaks along his forearms, jaw, and collarbones. His plate is heavy, carefully maintained, and gilded only at the edges, as if decoration has been permitted but never allowed to interfere with function. He moves with the measured economy of someone accustomed to narrow battlements, always placing his weight where a stone parapet would bear it best. Within a minute of meeting him, people notice that he checks the clasp of his tower shield whenever a door opens behind him. The gesture is automatic, almost gentle, and contrasts with his severe command presence. His most unexpected feature is a quiet, scholarly delicacy in his hands, which turn maps and repair snapped buckles with the care of a jeweler.
“His voice is low, dry, and controlled, carrying the faint rasp of heated stone. He rarely raises it.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin bronze chain runs from his shield clasp to a ring on his left gauntlet, and he checks it whenever a door opens behind him.
His gold scales carry narrow dark cinder-streaks that resemble smoke trapped beneath glass.
He rests his weight against walls and pillars as though constantly testing their load-bearing strength.
His war-pick has a small recessed compartment containing folded names of soldiers he failed to bring home.
When he removes his helmet, the air near his snout smells faintly of hot coins and scorched cedar.
Voice
“A deep baritone with a restrained furnace growl, more resonant than loud. In moments of genuine tenderness, the heat leaves his voice and it becomes unexpectedly soft.”
Clothing
Heavy gilded plate mail over charcoal wool, with red-brown leather straps, ashproof gloves, and a high collar bearing the bronze scale of the Aegis Command. Off duty, he wears a severe black tunic, a reinforced travel coat, and polished fortress boots.
Body Language
He stands with one foot slightly behind the other, as if braced against a sudden impact. His shield hand repeatedly tests the rim clasp, while his free hand traces invisible lines over maps and tabletops. When someone earns his trust, he leans closer rather than relaxing.
