Tark
Species
Human
Appearance
Tark is a pale, broad-shouldered man built like a door reinforced with iron bands. His black hair is cut close at the sides and tied into a short, stiff tail at the crown, which flicks whenever he turns his head. Red and black warpaint divides his face into blunt horizontal bars, but the paint is deliberately uneven, as if applied by someone else in a hurry. His dark Norse wolf armor is made from overlapping iron plates covered in oily charcoal lacquer, with a wolf's head worked into the left pauldron. The armor creaks softly when he walks, yet Tark himself moves with startling quiet, placing each foot as carefully as a hunter on thin ice. Within a minute of meeting him, most people notice that he pauses, draws one slow breath through his nose, and clears his throat before speaking. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: scarred, callused warrior's hands that handle cups, thread, and injured birds with extraordinary delicacy.
“Low, dry, and carefully paced. His voice carries the rough vibration of a wooden gate in cold wind.”

Distinguishing Features
Red and black warpaint applied in uneven horizontal bars across his pale face.
A wolf-shaped iron pauldron with one ear bent inward from repeated impacts.
A dark leather axe grip polished smooth exactly where his left thumb rests.
A faint smell of pine tar, wet wool, and crushed juniper clinging to his armor.
A habit of clearing his throat before speech, as though every sentence must pass a physical test.
Voice
“A low baritone with a dry rasp, as if each word has been dragged across rough wood. Before speaking, he inhales through his nose and clears his throat once.”
Clothing
Under his dark wolf armor he wears a smoke-gray wool tunic, red-dyed leg wraps, and soft seal-hide boots. A narrow strip of blue cloth is tied around his right wrist, faded almost white from years of washing.
Body Language
He stands with his weight balanced on the balls of his feet, shoulders relaxed, and chin slightly lowered. His left thumb repeatedly rubs a smooth worn patch on the leather grip of his axe. When someone mentions his dead brother, his posture becomes perfectly still except for a slow tightening of his jaw.
