Appearance
Dimo looks like a man built by years of hauling wet rope, corpses, and contraband through cramped tunnels. He is broad through the shoulders but narrow at the waist, with a compact, workman's strength rather than a soldier's polish. His eyes rarely settle on faces. Within a minute of meeting someone, he has usually inspected their hands, boots, belt knots, and the nearest exit. He moves with a sideways, economical shuffle that makes him seem half a step out of rhythm with everyone else. He smells faintly of lamp oil, river mud, and crushed mint, a combination he believes makes him seem respectable. Unexpectedly, his hands are extraordinarily gentle, and he handles injured animals, children, and fragile glassware with the care of a jeweler.
“His voice is low, dry, and unhurried, with a working-class cadence colored by clipped Greek-like vowels. He speaks in short sentences when calm and becomes almost ceremonious when angry.”

Distinguishing Features
His eyes travel over hands, footwear, exits, and drains before they meet anyone's face.
He smells of lamp oil, river mud, and crushed mint.
He walks with a sideways shuffle that lets him keep walls and obstacles in his peripheral vision.
His left thumb constantly rubs the raised edge of an old brass bath token beneath his shirt.
He carries himself like a brawler but treats small animals and delicate objects with startling tenderness.
Voice
“A low, rough baritone with a patient rhythm, like a tired foreman explaining a problem that should have been fixed years ago.”
Clothing
A patched brown gambeson under a sleeveless leather coat, dark trousers tied above the ankles, mud-stiff boots, and a faded red neckcloth used as a rag, bandage, or warning flag. He wears a brass bath token on a cord beneath his shirt.
Body Language
Dimo stands with his weight slightly forward, as if the floor might tilt. He keeps one hand near his sword but the other visible and open. His head turns toward footsteps before the rest of him does. When someone lies, he studies their boots instead of their face.
