Species
Dragonborn
Appearance
A youthful dragonborn woman with polished black scales that catch light like oiled stone. Her scales are not uniformly dark: the larger plates along her shoulders and jaw carry subtle green undertones, like tarnished bronze beneath soot. She moves with careful economy, placing each clawed foot as if crossing a polished floor, yet she takes up more space than she seems to realize. People unconsciously step aside when she turns. Her robes smell faintly of cedar smoke, horse leather, and expensive citrus oil, a combination she insists is dignified and does not notice has become unmistakably hers. Her expression is usually composed, but her tail gives away every feeling, tapping sharply when she is angry and curling around chair legs when she is frightened. The unexpected detail is her hands: broad, callused, and nicked from stable work and lock repairs, entirely at odds with her courtly posture.
“Precise and measured, with a low, clear cadence. She speaks as though every sentence might later appear in a contract, but her vocabulary becomes plain and earthy when discussing roads, animals, food, or wages.”

Distinguishing Features
Her polished black scales reflect candlelight with a greenish sheen.
She smells of cedar smoke, citrus oil, horse leather, and old paper.
Her tail taps out a steady rhythm whenever she is making a difficult decision.
Her hands are visibly callused from stable work despite her noble clothing.
She has a small brass road-marker charm sewn inside her left sleeve, a token taken from the flood-damaged crossing that changed her life.
Voice
“A low contralto with a faint rasp, calm enough to make urgent statements sound administrative. When genuinely amused, she gives a sudden short bark of laughter that surprises everyone, including herself.”
Clothing
She wears layered saffron and muted teal robes that sharply contrast with her black scales. The outer robe is plain wool with reinforced seams, while the inner tunic is fine linen embroidered with tiny geometric road markers. A broad belt holds her rapier, a folding ledger case, wax tablets, and a stable knife. Her boots are muddy more often than a noblewoman's boots should be.
Body Language
She stands very straight until someone vulnerable enters the room, at which point she lowers herself physically by crouching, sitting on a step, or leaning against a wall. Her tail taps in measured beats when she is calculating. When she is frightened, she folds her hands behind her back so nobody can see them shake.
