Fitz Stoutland
Monk, Heavy Fist Discipline
Fitz Stoutland
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Fitz is a compact, broad-shouldered dwarf with one arm, a shaved right shoulder, and a left forearm thickened by years of brutal conditioning. His movements are quick but never graceful in the usual sense. He pivots, drops his weight, and swings his whole body behind every blow, making him look briefly like a falling statue. His beard is braided into three uneven cords, each tipped with a copper washer taken from a different fighting ring. His face bears a flattened nose, a split lower lip, and a permanent crease between his brows. The unexpected detail is his delicate handsomeness when he is still. At rest, he looks almost scholarly, with long lashes and a patient, thoughtful gaze. Then he moves, and the room remembers he is dangerous.
“A low, dry voice with a clipped rhythm. He stresses the second or third word in a sentence unexpectedly, especially when angry.”

Distinguishing Features
One arm, missing from just below the right shoulder.
Three copper washers braided into his beard.
A crescent-shaped scar across his left palm from gripping a broken support beam.
A tiny blue bead sewn into the inside of his sash, a gift from the youngest apprentice he rescued.
His left boot sole is thicker than his right, giving his stance a subtle, rolling rhythm.
Voice
“Low, dry, and rough-edged, with a surprising musical lilt on personal names. When furious, he becomes quieter and his Dwarvish accent grows stronger.”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal wrap shirt, a red-brown sash, loose slate-gray trousers, and soft leather footwraps reinforced with hammered copper plates. He wears no armor. His belt carries a small folding stool, a roll of bandages, and a clay flask of bitter tea.
Body Language
He keeps his remaining hand loose and open, never hiding it or presenting it theatrically. His missing shoulder angles slightly forward as if still expecting weight. When challenged, he lowers his center of gravity and taps one heel against the floor. When embarrassed, he adjusts the copper washers in his beard.
