Appearance
Natsumi Gvantsel is a narrow-shouldered young woman with the compact strength of someone who has spent years leaning into a stubborn loom. She moves slowly only when watched, otherwise her hands and feet travel in small, exact bursts, like a sparrow crossing a table. Her skin carries a warm olive undertone and a faint dusting of dye beneath the nails that never quite washes away. Her black hair is braided close to the scalp on one side and left loose on the other, falling in a heavy, slightly frayed rope over her shoulder. She smells unmistakably of beeswax, toasted flax, and orange peel, though she insists the orange peel is only there to keep moths away. Her most surprising feature is her laugh, which is sudden, loud, and boyishly delighted, completely at odds with her otherwise hushed presence. People meeting her often remember the delicate clicking of her loom shuttle before they remember her face.
“Soft, precise, and economical. She often pauses before nouns, as if selecting the strongest thread for a seam.”

Distinguishing Features
The persistent scent of beeswax, toasted flax, and orange peel is noticeable within a minute of meeting her.
Her left thumb has a shallow crescent indentation from years of pressing thread against a bone shuttle.
A brass thimble hangs at her throat, polished bright everywhere except the underside, which is darkened by years of sweat and skin oil.
She has a remarkably loud, delighted laugh that breaks through her usual quiet manner.
Tiny colored fibers cling to her sleeves even after she changes clothes.
Voice
“Low and warm, with a faint roughness from years of speaking over the loom. When frightened, she becomes almost inaudible. When laughing, she sounds much younger than her age.”
Clothing
A russet wool dress beneath a dark indigo work apron, both patched with nearly invisible stitches. She wears soft leather shoes wrapped at the ankles with braided linen, a brass thimble on a cord around her neck, and a faded blue sash whose inner seam has been repaired so many times it is almost entirely thread.
Body Language
Natsumi keeps her shoulders relaxed and her elbows close to her ribs. Her fingers are almost always occupied with a thread, knot, or loose fiber. When angry, she becomes very still, holding a shuttle horizontally across both palms like a small blade. Affection appears as practical adjustments, such as straightening a collar or reinforcing a torn cuff without asking.
