Ezra Brightleaf
Species
Elf (Sylvan Folk)
Appearance
Ezra moves as if music swells beneath his boots: a long, deliberate stride with pauses that always land on the downbeat. His face is narrow and finely boned, habitually illuminated by a half-smile that feels both welcoming and slightly sly. He favors high collars and vests with hidden pockets; his hands are ink-stained from ledger notes and calluses ring his fingertips from years of plucking lute strings. Unusually for an elf tavernkeeper, he keeps a short, practical travel cloak folded on the bar stool beside him—even on calm nights—and often ties a stray sprig of night-blooming lantern blossom behind his ear. The contradiction that marks him is a pair of bright, childlike dimples beneath steely, tired eyes: the look of someone who will laugh at a good joke but has recently learned the cost of levity.
“Measured, musical cadence with occasional old-world idioms. He punctuates sentences with small laugh-like exhalations and uses theatrical flourishes—'and there we were!' or 'hold the lantern, if you please.”
