Brann
Paladin, Oath of the Watchers
Brann
Species
Half-Elf
Appearance
Brann looks built for holding a doorway alone. His half-elven features are broad and weathered rather than delicate, with a square jaw, heavy brows, and a mouth that seems permanently prepared to object. He moves with careful economy, placing each boot as if the floor might betray him. His armor smells faintly of boiled leather, lamp oil, and crushed juniper, a scent he does not notice until someone compliments it. His tabard is a poor fit, too short at the wrists and patched beneath the arms with blue sailcloth. The one immaculate item he owns is a narrow brass collar clasp shaped like a shut door. Unexpectedly, he has a gentle, almost domestic appearance when unarmored, especially while mending socks or peeling apples for children at the watchhouse.
“Measured and low, with crisp consonants and a faint river-district accent. Brann rarely raises his voice.”

Distinguishing Features
His brass collar clasp is polished obsessively and shaped like a shut door.
The fingers of his left glove are stained permanently blue from years of handling watchhouse ledger ink.
He smells of juniper, lamp oil, wet wool, and clean metal.
His armor is repaired with blue sailcloth rather than matching leather.
He has a tiny, soft cough whenever someone lies in his immediate presence, though he insists it is an old throat injury.
Voice
“A low baritone with the dry rasp of someone who has spent years calling warnings through rain. His words are never hurried, and his rare laugh arrives in two short bursts before he seems to remember he is supposed to be stern.”
Clothing
Indigo watch tabard over well-maintained chain mail, reinforced leather gloves, dark wool trousers, mud-stained riding boots, and a rain cape patched with mismatched thread. His belt carries a ring of ordinary keys, though most are not his official responsibility.
Body Language
Brann keeps his shoulders square and his hands visible. He tilts his head slightly when listening, as if weighing a door for weakness. In tense moments, his thumb rubs the brass collar clasp at his throat. When relaxed, he sits sideways in chairs and lets one leg swing like a bored schoolboy.
