Oray Akgul
Species
Human
Appearance
A lean, weather-marked man with a long torso and narrow shoulders, Oray moves like someone accustomed to crossing steep ground in darkness. His hands are callused across the palms but meticulously clean around the nails. A pale scar cuts from the left corner of his mouth toward his ear, giving his resting expression the look of a restrained smile. His face is angular, with a blunt nose and deep-set eyes that rarely remain still. He wears his authority quietly, never standing quite at attention, yet somehow making every doorway feel like a checkpoint. The unexpected thing about him is his gentleness with fragile objects: he handles letters, cups, and wounded birds with the care of a priest handling relics, despite the hard efficiency of everything else he does.
“Low, controlled, and economical. His words have the clipped rhythm of official reports, but his vowels soften when he speaks about family, food, or mountain roads.”

Distinguishing Features
A pale scar pulls the left side of his mouth upward.
His right thumb is stained permanently dark from years of handling sealing wax and lampblack.
He wears a small copper mountain charm beneath his shirt, hidden except when he bends forward.
His brass officer's seal has been filed flat on one edge, a private mark known only to Da'Couro.
He whistles three descending notes before entering a room, though he denies doing it.
Voice
“A dry baritone with a faint rasp, like cloth drawn over unfinished wood. He speaks softly enough that listeners must choose to pay attention.”
Clothing
A dark wool officer's coat reinforced at the shoulders, a rust-red sash woven with small geometric mountain patterns, soft riding boots, fingerless gloves, and a weatherproof gray mantle clasped with Da'Couro's stamped brass seal. His clothing is practical but repeatedly repaired with careful, nearly invisible stitching.
Body Language
Oray keeps his weight balanced over the balls of his feet, as if the ground might tilt. He rarely points with a finger, preferring a small movement of his chin. When lying by omission, he rubs the brass seal at his belt. When genuinely frightened, he becomes perfectly still.
