Rynalynn Leafwhorl
Rynalynn Leafwhorl
At the table
Voice
A bright, slightly breathy voice shaped by calling to family across open fields. She starts phrases with a quick intake through her nose, as if preparing to make a proclamation, and her words tumble faster when she is excited.
Her voice has a lightly breathy, quick-starting quality, with a little rasp from shouting across the fields and the occasional clipped consonant learned from mimicking Baxari. She often draws out Princess's name like a royal announcement, then rushes through the rest of her thought. When speaking about the farm, her words become more careful and specific.
Speech patterns
How to play them
Meet her enthusiasm with respect, but set clear boundaries around dangerous work. Asking about Princess or the farm's trees wins her attention. Mocking her threats or dismissing her as a baby makes her dig in her heels; she responds better when given a small, real responsibility.
Goal
Earn a trusted place in the farm's work by helping care for a patch of recovering soil and proving she can look after it responsibly.
Motivation
To be seen as capable without losing the safety and closeness of her family.
Appearance
Rynalynn has fine elven features framed by a thick, russet tuft of ape-like fur that springs up around her crown and cheeks, with stray curls that catch bits of chaff. Her long ears tilt expressively, and her large eyes track every moving thing in the yard. She stands with her weight pitched forward on the balls of her feet, ready to dart after Baxari or Princess; when she waits, she rocks heel to toe as if the ground were a rhythm only she can hear. She leaves the impression of a bright, watchful child trying very hard to look formidable. Unexpectedly for a farm child, she keeps a tiny collection of smooth, carefully sorted seeds tucked in a stitched pouch, arranged by shape rather than usefulness.
Clothing
A patched green work tunic, soft trousers, and a too-large belt with a seed pouch and a blunt little wooden tool. Her sleeves are rolled unevenly, and one knee is usually dusty.
Body language
She leans forward when curious and squares her shoulders when pretending to be fierce. Her hands are almost always occupied, turning a seed, tugging a sleeve, or mimicking Baxari's gestures. When nervous, she rocks from heel to toe and glances toward Princess.

Distinguishing features
Personality
14 traits and drivesRynalynn is affectionate and curious, yet quick to puff herself up when she thinks someone is underestimating her. Around her family she is excitable and openly clingy; around strangers she borrows Baxari's swagger and watches carefully to see whether it works. When calm, she asks thoughtful questions and notices small changes in the farm. When frightened or embarrassed, she doubles down on her threats and refuses to admit she needs help.
- Alignment
- Kind-hearted and protective, but still impulsive and apt to copy whatever her beloved brother does.

HP 6 · Custom Generic Fantasy guideline: moves at an ordinary child's walking pace; no system-specific movement rate is established here.Rynalynn is not a trained combatant. She tries to stay near Princess or Baxari, uses noise and thrown dirt to distract, and runs for cover if danger becomes real. Princess may defend her, but should not be treated as a trained combatant without separate rules for Shups.

Background
Rynalynn was born and raised at Leafwhorl Farm, where her family grows crops while repairing the soil that generations of planting have worn thin. The family home is built around living trunks, its rooms added carefully over time rather than carved by felling the trees. Her parents, Okobar and Xenalyn, keep the farm's work going with their children, including the patient care of the Shups used to till and enrich the fields. When Baxari got a Shup companion named Bubby, Rynalynn insisted she needed one too. The Shup she chose became Princess, a name she gave with absolute seriousness. Rynalynn is still too young for the hardest work, but helps with small tasks and shadows Baxari whenever she can. A formative moment came when a storm loosened a young tree's root-bed and Rynalynn watched her family save it by working together through the night. Since then, she has treated the farm as a living family member, not merely a place to work. Now she wants to prove she can be trusted with a real responsibility, while her parents worry that copying Baxari's bravado will put her in danger.
Role in the story
A lively young member of the Leafwhorl family who can draw the party into the rhythms and concerns of the farm, provide a child's view of family tensions, and create a protective-stakes complication if danger reaches the homestead.
